Horatio

Hoopes Park

The Great Blue Heron is the largest of the truly American herons,
and is known as a stately, dignified, and interesting bird by those
who have observed it in other ways than over the sights of a shotgun or rifle.

    1. By the way, your "Horatio" name for the Heron is ironic...my husband has named one GBH that is always in the same spot when we arrive at a birding trail...he named 'his' Hector.

    3. I was thinking Horatio Hornblower...the sea captain. But your namesake is good too.
